Cant believe it!

First! Sorry this has taken me so long. Only a few of the computers work well over here and with 250 staff it can be a battle to log on to a good computer.

Anyways, I have been here for exactly a week now! Its crazy how fast time flys, but it has been amazing so far! We have been learning so much this past week that I think my head is going to explode! I officially got placed with 10 year old girls in bunk 10 AND there are 10 of them! I think thats a sign haha. They arrive tomorrow but based on their parents biographies of them they all seem fantastic! None of them have major food allergies and ALL of the parents asked for their girls to be placed in an over-nurturing bunk. I think they picked the right counselor for them ;) haha. I have made plenty of amazing friends from all over the world. Everyone is so different and unique.   I am officially known as the girl who snorts when she laughs. How embarrassing haha. I bet you can guess that I am just in love with this experience.

Yesterday was our first day off. I got attacked by a horse fly and am allergic so my right ankle is pretty swollen. I have a ton of bruises but am not sure where they came from. I also have this carpet burn thing on my forehead from scrubbing off dead skin haha. Other than that I am doing well! The day off was nice and the sun is enjoyable.

I miss you guys all so much. Like my facebook said you can send me letters or pictures or drawings now! I would love to hear from you guys. Try to stay caught up on your summers as well! Here is the address:

So, bring on the campers! Wish me luck. It will be an interesting experience once they get here!

Last Monday..

So this is my last Monday in Des Moines for a while. My flight to New York leaves at 7am on Saturday morning and the bus for camp leaves at 7pm for Pennsylvania.  Training for camp starts on Sunday and I am so nervous. We got our handbooks, which are 77 pages long, and completely intimidating.  I hope I can keep up and remember all of the rules. Definitely will be great airplane reading.  I also just sent off three packages to camp full of bedding and clothes.  It just makes it SO real.

I have a new goal for camp.  I am going to take these 6 weeks and find the real me.  The past 3 years of college have been a rollercoaster and I feel like I lost myself. Those 3 years have made me completely insecure of my goals and myself.  At times I do not feel good enough or pretty enough or smart enough and it ruins relationships.  I need to get back to me and love the skin I am in.  SO, I am going to use this time at camp to learn from new people and completely rediscover me.  Be prepared world because I am coming back a new me.

10 days from now...

As most of you know I will be leaving for Pennsylvania in 10 days.. Those of you who did not know until now are probably thinking, "PA, wtf". Well, I will be working at a summer camp there till August 14th.  I figured this would be a great way to keep everyone updated and for me to stay updated with you while I am gone.
So more about this camp... Want to check it out? www.campstarlight.com.  Beautiful, huh?  If you have time you should watch the video! It is amazing.  I am going to be a bunk specialist. I will find out which age group of girls will be in my bunk once I get there and go through a week of training.
Feelings:
  1. I am super excited and super scared at the same time to travel East. I am hoping for some amazing weather.
  2. I will miss my babies. I have nannied for the same wonderful 3 children for the longest time.  I cannot imagine how much they will grow in the 6ish weeks I am gone..
  3. This will be the first summer I am away from my family, friends, and Seattle..  I am going to miss them and the summers we spend together.
  4. I am leaving an amazing guy behind who I am going to miss. I wish Pennsylvania and Bonney Lake were closer.. Guess we will see how things go in August.
  5. There is a bubble of excitement in my tummy.  I am SO ready for what I hear will be the best summer of my life. Bring on a new experience.
So you can follow this blog if you want! I will update as much as possible and I hope you all will comment. I want to know how YOUR summers are going as well.  This is not just about me.  I will miss each and every one of you and hope you decide to keep in touch. Please and thank you.LOVE.
