2 week mark

My goodness it has been awhile and I have so much to tell you! So let's begin:
  1. We had Miss(ter) Starlight last week. All of the girl bunks chose a male counselor to dress up as a female.  My girl's chose Matthew who is the cooking specialist at camp and one of my best friends.  We named him, or should I say her, Harrietta Galifinakis. He let us shave his beard and legs, apply makeup, and paint his nails. He played the part of a female very well.  The pageant was the funniest experience I have had and best of all Matthew won!
  2. We went to a Binghamton Mets game! It was a fun out of camp experience.  We also got to eat regular, non-kosher food. Yum! I will also be bringing home a foul ball from the game..
  3. We made candy sushi.  The sushi was filled with rice krispy treats, dots, licorice, mike and ikes, wrapped in fruit rollup, and drizzled with chocolate syrup.  Biggest Stomach Ever. At least the girls enjoyed it.
  4. Tomorrow is Inter day which means only the inter boys and girls will be at camp.  We made really awesome teeshirts that we will be tye dying. I will make sure to bring mine home for you all to see.
  5. Tuesday is the Inter Trip and we are going to Cooper's town (aka the baseball hall of fame).  We will also be seeing a movie. Sweet.
  6. Thursday is Carnival. Games, booths, and slip and slides are just a few of the main attractions.
  7. Olympics should be breaking out any day now! I hear it is the best part of camp so I cannot wait. GO TEAM (insert my designated color here)!
  8. As of today I will be home in two weeks. Watch out 206 because I am ready to have an official summer break!
As much as I have loved camp and the experiences I have had I cannot wait to be home.  Two months has been an awful long time and many things have changed in my life because of the time span.  I cannot wait to find a new apartment to decorate, to catch up with my friends from home and school, to see my family, and to figure out my love life.  I can honestly say I do not think I will be leaving the Pacific Northwest for a very long time.  My heart belongs to Washington and Oregon and the amazing people waiting for me there. I love and miss you all. See you in 2 weeks!

Visiting Day

You would not believe the craziness that happened on Saturday. VISITING DAY. Parents running to find their children, tears, and a crap load of food and candy and drinks. I have honestly never seen such a thing. Parents filled our bunk with soda, cookie cake, chocolate, chips, cookies, candies, and my personal favorite pretzel pizza! We had enough food to last the final 4 weeks of camp. Yet last night all of the junk was collected, bagged, and brought to the HC. I have NEVER seen more leftovers then I did last night. Thankfully everything that can be donated will be sent to a less privileged camp and some of it was even boxed and sent overseas to soldiers.

Visiting day left us with two less girls. Isabella went home with her parents for good and Sabrina will be back in about a week.  We also had a girl who ran after her mother and had to be physically held back. She escaped a couple times and she is FAST. Overall it was a great day and the girls families are wonderful! It will definitely be a day I remember for the rest of my life.

I had my second to last day off yesterday and got to see the final Harry Potter! It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, but I was sad to watch my childhood ending. That book has been around for as long as I can remember. I will be seeing it again!

Well I cannot wait to be home with all of you and enjoying the rest of the summer. Only about 25 days I believe. CRAZY to think this all went by so fast. Love and miss you all!

Its already been a month..

which means I am half way done with camp! It has gone by so fast I cannot believe it. I have so many things I could write about on here since the last time I blogged.  I have participated in SWF (starlight wrestling federation) and been covered in blue slushie mix, played 4 counselors VS 8 campers laser tag and won, and driven a golf cart in order to save the day.

The lower inter division (which includes my girls) put on the play Annie in just a weeks time. I also single handedly took care of two nose bleeds during the play.  They did WONDERFUL. I am so proud of them.  I coached a group of 4 girls and 4 boys in square dancing and they WON (I got to have a proud mommy moment).

And here are some facts from camp:
1) I have more bracelets on one wrist right now then I have had in my whole life.
2) Those bracelets have given me an awkward white tan line on said wrist.
3) My shorts and teeshirt tan line are also VERY attractive.
4) I have officially gotten over my fear of spiders and kill an ant about every 2 minutes in our bunk.
5) I am SICK of pizza and everything kosher.
6) I miss each and every one of you more then you can imagine!

Sorry this is so short but I must now go to evaluations for the first half of camp! Wish me luck! I will see you all soon! :)
